Grateful for these things

Life is funny sometimes, and we have no idea what God has planned for us. I know if we just keep on doing what we are suppose to do and follow his commandments, He will bless us and help us get through whatever hardship we might have.

I am grateful for:
1. My God
2. My hard working husband
3. My Baby girl who has so much personality

4. A roof over my head
5. A place to have hot showers
6. Nice set of sheets ( people, buy high thread count sheets, they last longer, and it feels sooo nice to sleep in them)
7. My ability to be able to find whatever ingredients I have in my house and make a meal out of it. ( i.e. Bacon, eggs, onion + spaghetti = Spaghetti carbonara )
8. WIC
9. A chance to serve others and still feel that I am some what useful and contributing to the society
10. Finding humor in daily events

The Korean Family

My bishop asked me if I could help out this new family that just moved to the US about a month ago, and befriend them. I said, "sure! no problem". The catch is that they don't speak much English. For some reason my bishop thought Chinese and Korean are similar language. Until I informed him that it is two separate languages.

This cute little Korean family consisted of the mom, we just called her Sis. So, and her 3 kids. I baked some chocolate chip cookies and went over to give it to them. They were so happy to just have someone come over to their house! The kids were all so excited. The next day, the mom and the 3 kids came over and brought Korean meat patty for us. It was awesome.

We got to know them a little better when they were over. Given the language barrier, we were still able to understand each other with tremendous amount of body language, and google translator =^.^= The oldest daughter actually can communicate quite well in English, so that helps alot too.

This Korean family reminded me a lot of my family when we first moved to the US. It was very nice to have friends. I remember feeling unwanted and lonely when I first got to America, and i don't want them to feel what I felt years ago.

1997, I was 12

On the following Sunday, sister So bore her testimony. She google translated what she was going to say, and print it off. At the end of her testimony, she said that she's so grateful for friends, and heavenly father sent her angels to be her friends. "...sopie family is out angel..." She was looking for us on the podium. It was so sweet of her.

Given our current circumstance, it is quite nice to know that we can still help out other people. When we are serving other people, we forget about our own troubles.

Happy 5 Months

Sophie can sit up now! She can roll herself to wherever she rolls herself to... usually to the TV and she likes to get into the DVDs. She can grab things and put them in her mouth. . She likes to say " ahhhh" when she wakes up. She is very energetic. (i.e. LOUD) Most of all, she's a mama's girl. She likes to cuddle with her mama, and letting mama read to her. Surprisingly, she really likes books. She quiets down, and listen =^.^= We need to get more books from the library for her.

She is growing up so quickly. We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

Happy baby

Have You Drank Water Today?

H2O! 55%~78% of our body is made with water, and all the cells need water to function. So, is it important that we hydrate ourselves? You bet!

Water makes your skin look more supple and kissable. Who doesn't want good looking skin? Water will give your skin the healthy look it deserves from inside out!

Sometimes people would complain that they have headaches, sometimes it just means that your brain needs some water. Try it, it works. You are dehydrated! Your cells and every fiber of your body is craving for water! Stop drinking sugary soda, juices, vitamin water and etc. The free plain o'water is the magical solution your body needs.

Oh, and water flushes out excess salt and sugar that we absolutely do not need any more of in our body. Next time you eat something, check the label and see how much sodium is in your food. You would be surprised.

So, the other day I was craving for Mac n' Cheese. ( One of my weaknesses) It has a silo full of sodium in it. Okay, I am exaggerating. But it does has way too much sodium. The next day, I looked like a cute frog that sucked in too much helium. Indeed, I was bloated. Thank goodness tap water is free where I live, and i really love my Britta Water Filter. It makes my water taste better.

Drink your water, it makes your pretty and feel good.

Dull Looking Skin?

Have you noticed that your skin has been looking kinda dull lately? You are not alone. Guess what? The season is changing, and your skin needs to be pampered. Come on gals, (and guys) who wouldn't want a facial?

After the harsh winter, going outside for the blistering cold and staying home with blasted heat, your skin is just so beat up.The top layer of your skin has a thick build up of dead skin, hence the dull look. It needs some spring cleaning and be scrubbed and polished.

Some of my favorite product to use to get rid of the dead skin are as followed

TimeWise Microdermabrasion Set from Mary Kay  $55

I love this set because the beads are circular and it doesn't scratch your skin, and it lasts for a long time. You only need a dime size each time you use it, and your skin is super polished and smooth.

Trust me, it gets rid of all that dead skin, and it helped to reduce wrinkles.

St. Ives Apricot Scrubb-- $3 @ Walmart

I didn't have alot of money in college, but I still needed to look good so I could go on those dates with the boys. $3 is something I can find from my laundry baskets, and it's a nice huge tube. It does a good job on getting your skin smooth, but the downside is that it's a bit scratchy if you are not careful. So get the sensitive skin kind, and it does it wonders.

Sugar and Olive oil

When I visited my aunt in Italy, she told me one of the beauty secret of Italian women. They use olive oil on their skin! Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with 2 table spoon of olive oil, there you have the inexpensive and widely accessible natures scrub. I haven't try to use it on my face, since olive oil is a bit heavy, but I do use it on my hands and feet. The  sugar scrub makes your skin feel AMAZING! Try it!

Crazy March Madness

The month of March has been so crazy for our little family. Couple big things that happened...

2 funerals and lost 2 love ones.

My aunt Darlene who fought a glorious battle with cancer, and finally was able to leave all the pain behind, and go see our heavenly father. She will be missed dearly!! And aunty, we'll take care of uncle, and make sure he showers =^.^= and eats.

Steve's best pal, Danny, who was tragically killed in a car accident. A newborn daughter, and widow wife are in our thoughts and prayers. Life is is full of unexpected surprises, and I know our father in heaven has his plan. We might not know why everything happened the way it did, but he has a greater plan for each and every single one of us. He knows what's best for us. I know that we are here on earth to have a body and experience all things humanly possible. We are here to be tested, and we have agency to choose the way we return to our father in heaven.

Here is to Danny~! Even though in this photo you were touching my husband in places you shouldn't, I am still going to miss you.

Tell your love ones you love them every day, and any time you want to. Say it even more often than you say it now. Let them know how you feel. Don't hold grudges, forgive those who have wrong you. Most of the time, those who have wrong you have already forgotten what they have done. If you don't forgive them, then you are carrying this unnecessary burden of remembrance of what they have done wrong. You are only eating yourself away.

Happiness is a choice. Choose to be happy and positive. Life is too short to live miserably. If you don't like something in your life, don't complain! Do something about it!! If you are not going to do anything about it, then don't complain.

Find good in everything you do, and in everyone. You will be happier. I promise. Give yourself a smile, cuz you deserve it. Love yourself more every day, so you can have more love to love everyone around you.
